Basic Chess Rule

At the beginning of the game the chessboard is laid out so that each player has the white (or light) color square in the bottom right-hand side. The chess pieces are then arranged the same way each time. The second row (or rank) is filled with pawns.
Chess moves. King can move exactly one square horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Queen can move any number of vacant squares diagonally, horizontally, or vertically. Rook can move any number of vacant squares vertically or horizontally. Bishop can move any number of vacant squares in any diagonal direction.
It moves in a straight line horizontally or vertically for any number of squares. The bishop moves in a straight line diagonally for any number of squares. The queen, the most powerful piece in chess, can move any number of squares in a straight line horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
